How it all began
Share
So, picture this: a die-hard Labyrinth fan, a 3D printer, and a whole lot of miniatures. Intrigued? You should be! Let me take you on a journey through the whimsical world of miniature painting, where every brushstroke tells a story.
How did it all begin?
Anyone who knows me will know I’m a huge Labyrinth fan. One day, in a fit of boredom, I stumbled upon a Hoggle file online. The idea struck me - why not learn how to paint miniatures? It seemed like a fun hobby to dive into, so I sent the file off to the library for printing and started my research on the art of miniature painting.
Impatience strikes!
After waiting for what felt like an eternity (okay, it was only 6 weeks), impatience got the best of me. I couldn't wait any longer, so I took matters into my own hands and bought a 3D printer. Who knew impatience could lead to such creative endeavors? 😂
From hobby to business
With a growing collection of creations and nowhere to keep them all, we decided to take the plunge and start selling our creations. Subscribing to some artists for commercial rights, we started attending local markets and putting our stock into various stores around town. This gave us money to buy... more filament of course!
How did the miniature painting go?
It didn't take me long to realise that my artistic skills were, well, lacking. So, Sienna stepped in as the designated painter, while I took on the roles of accountant and social media manager. Talk about a dynamic duo!
What's the motivation behind it all?
Believe it or not, it's not about the money (or lack thereof). It's all about spreading joy and bringing smiles to people's faces. Who needs profits when you've got the satisfaction of knowing you've brightened someone's day with a colorful creation? (Sienna is the only person who takes a wage from this endeavour).
Where do our creations end up?
One of the best parts of this artistic adventure is seeing where our creations end up. From living rooms to offices, our artwork finds its way into the hearts and spaces of many. It's like a little piece of our creativity is scattered all over the place!
And let's not forget about Hoggle, the unsung hero of this tale. Despite best intentions, Hoggle never did get painted. Oops! But hey, every masterpiece has a work in progress, right?
